How did you end up in the design industry?
I have been pushing furniture around since I can remember! My journey into the design industry was a natural evolution, shaped by my upbringing in Europe, where I was surrounded by historic architecture and vintage pieces. Coming from a family of house aficionados and builders, I developed a strong appreciation for craftsmanship and design early on. After a successful career as an executive, I decided to channel my passion for interiors into my own firm, blending my business experience with my innate love for design.
What does your team look like?
I do all the design work and client interaction as well as procurement. I have part time help on operations and bookkeeping and finance.
Tell us about the project you're sharing.
Our clients are busy tech professionals and tasked us with creating a warm and serene space to unwind after a long day. We were mainly focused in this room, but we also did some additional work in other areas of the home. The clients asked us to create a moody atmosphere while also devising a more effective space plan that addressed the awkward bed wall and optimized the dormer.
What was involved in this project?
We enveloped the room in a deep earthy tone and balanced it with distinctive art and textiles. We designed the gallery wall behind the bed to draw your eye up and away from the window and let light filter into the room through the caned headboard. In the dormer we created a custom reading nook that displays our clients’ cherished collections.
What's something you were really excited about creating for this project?
It’s hard to describe the feeling when you enter the room. The dark brown envelopes you like a hug and creates a very calming vibe. I swear, your blood pressure drops ten points! This was also the first time I sourced art internationally and I want to keep doing that for future clients.
What was your biggest learning from this project?
Don’t be afraid to propose bold moves to clients!

YES! I am using the Furnishing Budget Calculator for almost all projects. Love it! I also purchased the Client Purchasing Guide and have used it to educate potential clients.
