How did you end up in the design industry?
When my husband and I moved into our new home in 2019, it was the perfect blank canvas for small projects. I began sharing some of these projects on my personal Instagram and even started helping others with styling and design. At that time, we were expecting our third baby, who was born in April 2020—right as the world shut down. Encouraged by my best friend, I created a business Instagram using a name I’d reserved just in case I ever opened a store. Things took off quickly, and by 2021, I was able to leave my full-time job. The rest, as they say, is history.

Just me and my part-time assistant, Marina.
Tell us about the project you're sharing.
The project I’m most proud of is my personal kitchen renovation because it’s my first renovation and the best example of my timeless, bright, and airy style. When we moved into our home, I knew I wanted to tackle the kitchen because it’s in the center of our home and the room we use the most. It’s an expensive project so I knew it wouldn’t happen right away, but when we sold our condo in Boston, we were able to use some of the earnings to fund my dream kitchen. We have 4 kids and it functions so well for our family while maintaining the beauty of using natural materials and high-quality finishes. I wanted our kitchen to look truly timeless and wear well. I always try to avoid going too trend-heavy because I would never want someone to walk into one of my projects and say “Oh, you must have renovated in 2024”. I can truly say I’ll love this design forever.
What's something you were really excited about creating for this project?
The shiplap and marble backsplash mixed with the curved hood was something I had dreamt of for years so seeing it come to life was so rewarding. I feel we maximized every single inch of the space in a way that was thoughtful of how our family operates.
Is there anything you changed about your business or processes as a result of this project?
I felt more confident taking on renovations after going through the process myself because I learned so much. I also learned more about using Sketchup and taking a creative vision to life.
What was your biggest learning from this project?
My biggest learning was working with many trades to accomplish a vision that is only in my head. I learned how to communicate my ideas and see how many people come together to create so communication and attention to detail are critical.
Is there a tool, tip, or business resource that you use in your business?
I use Dubsado and Designfiles for my business and couldn’t live without them.
